Using Manage Wireless Network

Following are the steps to view the WiFi password via manage wireless network:

  1. In the toolbar, click the WiFi icon.

  2. Select the 'Network & Internet Settings' > 'WiFi' option.

  3. Click 'Change adapter options'.

  4. Right click on the WiFi network for which you want to see the password.

  5. Select 'Status' > 'Wireless Properties' > 'Security'.

  6. In the 'Network Security Key' section, click 'Show character'.

  7. The WiFi password will be displayed.

Using Windows Settings

Here are the steps to view the WiFi password via Windows settings:

  1. Click the Start button and select the Settings menu.

  2. In the Settings menu, select the 'Network & Internet' option.

  3. In the Status section, scroll down and click 'Network and Sharing Center'.

  4. Select the WiFi network for which you want to see the password next to the 'Connections' line.

  5. After opening the WiFi status window, click on the 'Wireless Properties' option.

  6. Go to the 'Security' tab and check the box next to 'Show Characters' to display the password.

  7. After that, the WiFi password will be displayed in the text box next to 'Network Security Key'.

Using Command Prompt

Command Prompt or CMD is an application in Windows that allows you to give commands via text. A little complicated, but it works.

Following are the steps to view WiFi passwords using Command Prompt (CMD):

  1. Open CMD by typing "CMD" in the search field and pressing enter on the appropriate search result.

  2. Once the CMD window opens, type the command "netsh wlan show profile" and press 'Enter'. This will display all the networks that have ever been connected to the laptop.

  3. Search for the name of the WiFi network you want to see the password for.

  4. Enter the command "netsh wlan show profile [wifi name] key=clear". Replace [wifi name] with the name of the WiFi network you want to see the password for, then press 'Enter'.

  5. Scroll down the screen and find the 'Security Settings' section.

  6. The WiFi password will be displayed in the 'Key Content' section.
